Description of work carried out:
Nepal had been in a country-wide lockdown from 24 March to 21 June 2020 to limit the spread of the virus. After lifting the lockdown, the rate of spreading of the virus has been more rapid. The lockdown was re-imposed in Kathmandu Valley from 20 Aug to 9 September 2020, and the second round of lockdown started over two months and continues until today 20 June. The COVID-19 created widespread concerns in Nepal and started to suffer the most rapid and widespread termination of economic activity due to the outbreak of this virus. In addition, the global economic disruptions and resulting impact on global value chain, plus restrictions in global travel and trade are already severely impacting Nepal's economy and people's livelihoods. The main objective of the study is to provide feedback on the policies that can be adopted to promote internal employment by analysing the positive and negative effects of COVID-19 in the field of internal employment.
